Knowledge for Profit: Exploiting Knowledge within the Organisation to Achieve Greater Sustainable Profit

The session will provide an insight into using knowledge and skills improvement within the Book Industry to improve the levels of sustainable profit. It will draw on experiences of the Book Profit Program and give specific case study examples. Attendees will be provided with an overview of the tools and techniques which were used to significantly improve the performance of the participating organisations.

The session will be participative in nature and challenge the audience to consider their business in a new framework.

The content of the presentation will include discussion on action learning techniques in a business environment, strategic enterprise improvement, using value chain management in the book industry and the social and cultural aspects of doing business.

Presentation attendees will be given access to some relevant tools that were developed for the Book Profit Program. The presentation will also draw on the material developed for the C-2-C Project : Book 4 Chapter entitled 'Learning by Doing'.
